Happy Homemaker Monday

hhm
Thanks to Sandra for hosting!

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Not so hot today. Only about 90 (instead of 100+)

One of my simple pleasures:
Good food and my family gathered around our table to enjoy it together.

On my bedside table:
Still trying to finish Eldest. Not real motivated to.

On my TV:
No TV here.

On the menu for tonight:
We're having steak and shrimp tacos with the leftovers from dinner last night.

On my To Do List:
I absolutely have to shave our big dog this week. Her coat is full of burrs.

New Recipe I tried last week:
Didn't try a thing. Hubby was out of town, so the kids and I just scrounged all week.

In the craft basket:
Not a thing.

Looking forward to:
Having my Suburban 100% totally fixed.

Homemaking Tip for this week:
Gotta borrow
Sandra's this week. It's a great idea:
Every two weeks or so I rotate the appliances on my counter tops, I actually take out one from my pantry and set it on the counter, if I see it, then I'll use it. You know how you have tons of great stuff like the Foreman Grill, Rotisserie etc but never use it because it's packed away?
Well this way, I see it and I make sure to plan my menus around it.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
Did you miss our parade? Check it out
here.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lesson learned the past few days:
That some people just refuse to be happy. I pray I will not become one of those people.

On my Prayer List:
Friends
Family
Fellow bloggers

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Mark 14:38 Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you. For though the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak.

You must be having a summer like ours. It's been unseasonably cool which is a blessing since I do not like the hot! Good idea with the appliances. I have such little counter space and cupboard space I have only a few but find I do use them. I bet when I have a big kitchen I could get into that rut.

I wish we had no t.v. here too but my husband works for the cable company so that's pretty much out of the question around here, unfortunately! I can dream!

Your poor doggy! One of my cats always get burrs and things in his fur too. I've never tried shaving him. I don't think it would go over too well. :0)
