Global Warming, What?

This is Texas, people...and I don't mean the Panhandle.

Cowboys and Indians

I'm a little behind in posting these. They're from Thanksgiving weekend at Ron's grandad's house. Morgan found these figures and was entertained for a good while.

After I took her photo, she arranged them just how she wanted them...

and snapped some of her own pics.

Below the hem

The nice thing about taking photos from the knees down...

is that it doesn't matter if your subject brushed her hair or not.

An open letter to the sun

Dear sun,
I miss you. Won't you please come back and lavish me with your warmth again? Why have you gone? Was it because I cursed you for shining in my eyes while I was driving without my sunglasses? I'm sorry! They were in my purse, which had fallen down behind my seat. I'll wear them all the time now, even in the shower, so I will always be prepared for your brightness.
Please, won't you evaporate all these puddles that are making my car look like a dirt clod with wheels? Did you bid me adieu because I complained you were too hot? Never, never again will I take you for granted.
I need you, sun. Please, please...come back soon.
With all my love and devotion,

Happy Homemaker Monday

Thanks to Sandra for hosting!

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Cold and cloudy. I think the weather is conspiring with Monday to make me feel blah.

One of my simple pleasures:
The smell of fresh baked bread.

On my bedside table:
My iPod. My camera manual is now in my purse. LOL

On my TV:
No TV here.

On the menu for tonight:
Still thinking on this.

On my To Do List:
Chores and work.

New Recipe I tried last week:
Nothing new.

In the craft basket:
I finally finished my crocheted bag, but I haven't taken any photos of it.

Looking forward to:
Belt testing being over. Yes, it's that time again!

Homemaking Tip for this week:
I have been making my own laundry soap for a while. Yesterday, I made my first batch of liquid fabric softener and I love it. I use Carrie's recipes at Farming on Faith. Scroll down on the homepage to find them.

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
I'm afraid that in-depth blog reading has fallen off here. I miss it, but just can't seem to carve out the time without feeling guilty.

Favorite photo from last week:

Lesson learned the past few days:
That a good friend is worth her weight in gold.

On my Prayer List:
Fellow bloggers
Our military, specifically, a friend leaving for boot camp today.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Psalm 56:11 I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?

For Monday

No children were harmed in the making of this post, but the dog's pride was extremely bruised.
