This time we only visited "Dogtown." Dogtown is where you go to look at and buy animals. All kinds of animals. They have goats, calves, horses, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, puppies, kittens, llamas, alpacas, and every kind of bird you could want. The kids and I had a grand time visiting all the cute babies, but what I was really there for were some Ameraucanas.
We found some (along with all other kinds of fowl) at Fowler's Ranch. It's run by a woman whom the kids and I called the "chicken lady". I never did find out her real name. But she was funny and sweet. I got my Ameraucanas and she made us an offer we couldn't refuse on some cute baby guineas for the kids.
We saw this darling almost first thing. It's a goldendoodle. And if Ron hadn't been there I very likely would have brought it home with me.This little cutie stuck out among a sea of kittens by performing an amazing trick. I tell you, I'd be surprised if nobody took this agile thing home with them.
These calves were just down from the chicken lady. My girls were begging to bring one home to bottle feed. I wasn't too convinced. And thankfully, again, Ron was there to bring good sense. I have very little when it comes to baby animals and I might have been talked into something regretful if he hadn't been there.
Like I said, this is only the tip of the iceberg for 1st Monday. On the main grounds you can find everything you could ever need to furnish a house and lots of stuff you never even knew you needed. I encourage everyone to visit Canton at least once!
